Evolution of a château.Nowadays housing the prefacture and general council of the Savoy district, the Château of the Dukes of Savoy was built in the 13th century. It was progressively modified over the centuries and serves as a testimony to the changes in taste from the Middle Ages to the nineteenth century. Visit the semi-circular tower, the lower rooms and the imperial wing and discover, at the heart of the Treasury tower, the evolution and the history of the chateau and of Chambéry. In the Sainte-Chapelle, you can admire the stained glass dating from the 16th century and the trompe l’œil frescoes.
